Work will begin to repair the collapsing bridge on Stotler Road between Orchard Drive and Bale Drive on December 5, 2017. Stotler Road will be closed for approximately 20 days during these repairs, making it necessary to detour buses. As some of the route changes are significant, it is our intention to give one-week notice when the original routes will be reinstated.
This road maintenance will have a significant impact on District bus transportation. As many as 79 bus routes, drop offs, and pick up times will be impacted. Some students will need to relocate their bus stops during this construction period. We will do our best to forecast time changes in bus routes, but these times may not reflect actual times because of the unknown impact the detour and potential winter weather will have on local traffic.
We remind all students, even if you don’t live in the immediately affected area, to be at your bus stop 10 minutes before the listed time and be patient as buses may run late, especially the first several days of this project.
All students whose bus route, drop off/pick up time, or stop location have been impacted will receive a letter detailing the changes. All information will also be available on Skyward via Parent Access. Some general changes include the following:
Linton Middle School Parent drop off/pick up:
Drop off and pick up will remain at the current location. We ask all traffic to enter Stotler Road from Saltsburg Road and turn right onto Maple Lo Drive. When arriving at the school please pull down past the swimming pool entrance to the orange cones for both drop off and pick up of students. Please exit using Aster Street to Saltsburg Road.
Orchard & Stotler bus stop:
Students at this stop will be moved to Canaveral and Stotler.
Bale & Stotler bus stop:
Students will remain at this bus stop. Buses will be required to do a turnaround maneuver because of the street closure. Students will be loaded before the turnaround is attempted. As always, students are not to run after or chase the bus, especially when it is turning around.
Thank you for your patience during this closure.
