Penn Hills School District

Message from the Superintendent- June 11, 2021

As we wind down our last day of school for 20/21, I want to extend a sincere thank you for your support and cooperation during this school year.  As I've said before, it hasn't always been pretty, but we did our best to have students onsite as often as local conditions would allow.  That being said, we wish all families and students a safe and peaceful summer.  You should not hesitate to reach out should you have questions and/or need assistance, as District offices will remain open and begin following standard 8:00 am-4:00 pm summer hours as of next week.

For those who will be joining us for summer programming June 21-July 2 and then again August 2-13, please remain mindful that PHSD COVID-19 mitigation guidelines will remain in effect AS IS until at least July 2.  That means, we will continue wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands frequently, etc.  We also expect both students and staff to evaluate personal health prior to leaving home each day, and no one should be reporting onsite if they have COVID-like symptoms.  For those who are not vaccinated, you should remain home if you may have been exposed to someone who has recently tested positive for COVID-19.   We will evaluate current conditions closer to the start of the August summer session and determine if guidelines should be adjusted then.  *Additionally, another Pfizer vaccination clinic will be facilitated by UPMC Children's Hospital Staff within the PHSD.  This time, vaccinations will be offered at Linton MS on Thursday, June 24 and Thursday, July 15 from 4:00-8:00 pm.  Legal guardians are asked to accompany those under the age of 16 who qualify for the Pfizer vaccine at the time these clinics are hosted.  More details are forthcoming, along with a registration link.

And, yes, COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES FOR THE CLASS OF 2021 remain on for tonight at 6:30 pm!  Graduates and registered guests are asked to adhere to our standing COVID-19 mitigation guidelines as described above.

Again, we wish EVERYONE a safe and peaceful summer, along with continued good health.

Sincerely,
Nancy
