Penn Hills School District

Update from the Superintendent - July 20, 2021

Penn Hills School District continues to monitor the latest health and safety updates regarding COVID-19.  Our Pandemic Review Committee will be formulating recommendations to start the new school year, and these recommendations will be shared publicly with our Board at Linton MS on Wednesday, August 4 at 6:00 pm.  In the interim, please review our Summer 2021 Health and Safety Plan that is posted on our website:  www.phsd.k12.pa.us (under District/COVID-19).

We do anticipate offering 5 days of onsite instruction as of August 30 for those families who are interested, along with 100% remote learning for those families who prefer that option.  In terms of masks, PHSD employees have been piloting a volunteer mask protocol since July 6; however, we are aware that the American Academy of Pediatrics is recommending masks for all students.  We will be closely watching any response from the CDC, PA Dept of Health, and/or Allegheny County Health Dept between now and the planned start of school.

We wish Everyone continued good health and strongly encourage consideration of COVID-19 vaccinations for those who are eligible.   Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have questions and/or concerns.

Sincerely,
Nancy
