Final plans have been confirmed to showcase our fabulous football team's undefeated season and 5A State Title. Penn Hills Police are going to help coordinate line-up activities, beginning at approximately 9:30 am on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the former YMCA property off Frankstown. The procession will focus on our students and include the championship team, our full PHHS Marching Band, PHHS Cheerleaders, and we are also hoping our victorious PHHS Hometown High Q team and W.P.I.A.L. 5A champion basketball team will consider participating as well. PHHS art teachers are helping with signs and posters.
At approximately 10:30 am, the procession will make its way across Frankstown Road and turn right onto Harvard Drive. Eventually, the group will travel up the Garland Drive Hill, proceed down the PHHS driveway, pass the front of the building and move to the cafeteria side of the building. Parade participants will then enter the back of the building and make their way to the PHHS auditorium. Community participants will be encouraged to access the auditorium from the main entrance. From there, I will offer very brief welcome remarks, after which Senator Jay Costa and Coach LeDonne will address the crowd.
Please, help spread the word. All are welcomed to attend and encouraged to line the parade route from Domino's to PHHS. We hope you will consider joining us for the celebration! A special thank you goes out to Senator Jay Costa, Mayor Sara Kuhn and School Board President Erin Vecchio for their passion and persistence in getting the necessary approvals to shut down that portion of Frankstown Road and to include the active participation of our local police, fire, and EMS.
