Standardized Testing

PSSA

All students in grades 3-8 must take the Reading and Mathematics exams as part of the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA).  Additionally, all students in grades 4 and 8 will take PSSA Science exams.  Penn Hills C.H.I.E.F.S. Academy students enrolled in grades 3-8 will be required to report to Penn Hills Elementary or Linton Middle School at designated times to complete the PSSA.

Testing Window

April 9-13, 2018 - English Language Arts Grades 3-8

April 16-20, 2018 - Mathematics Grades 3-8

April 23-27, 2018 - Science Grades 4-8

  * In the event a student is absent from their testing session, students must make-up their tests on designated make-up days.

Keystone Exams

Students enrolled in the Penn Hills C.H.I.E.F.S. Academy will participate in the Keystone Assessments throughout the school year.  Penn Hills Cyber Academy students will be required to report to Penn Hills High School at designated times to complete their specific course related Keystone exams. Those students enrolled in Algebra 1 in 8th grade will take their Keystone exams at Linton Middle school.

Spring - May 14-25, 2018

 * In the event a student is absent from their testing session, students must make-up their tests on designated make-up days.

Transportation for Standardized Testing and Lunch
 
Traditional cyber students will utilize either their own transportation or their regular school bus in order to arrive to and from their testing sites. If the testing day is a full day, students will be provided the opportunity to purchase a school lunch or pack a lunch with food items that do not require refrigeration.
